Class 31s at Kings Cross
Class 31s between turns near the refueling Depot .
Class 31 in the small depot at Kings Cross station
Class 31s between turns. The class 31s were used on Peterborough and Cambridge trains. The site of this refueling Depot is now a Car park. In steam days Top Shed was the main shed, but this area was used for serving locos between turns to save the trip back to the Top shed. When Top shed closed this depot took over.

A class 31 in BR blue comes into Kings Cross with a train of blue and grey Mark ones. it headcode panel is still in place but set to 0000
Kings Cross railway station is one of the main London stations. The station is in the North of London. Trains run from here to the North East via the East Coast Main Line (ECML) to towns like Huntingdon and Peterborough. Then on to Grantham and Newark, Doncaster, York and Durham to Newcastle. Then into Scotland to Edinburgh were trains can go to rest of Scotland including Glasgow and Aberdeen. Trains also go to Cambridge and Leeds.

Today Virgin  East Coast, GBRF and Great Northern are just some of the names on the trains. The name on the train does not mean, thats whos train it is these days.
