Class 47 over the River Nene in the late 1970s when Peterborough Power station was still in place

Class 47 is going over the River Nene bridge in the late 1970s when Peterborough Power station was still in place.

This power station is now gone replaced by The River Gate shopping Centre and Flats. There is now a footbridge this side of the Bridge which is now only used by Rail World.

The East Coast Main Line (ECML) GNR bridge can be seen in the background.

Next page the March railway line next to the Fair Meadow Car Park

After going under the ECML the line goes beside the Fair Meadow car Park before going  past the site of the East station  it then goes under the Perkins Parkway road bridge which is only about 30 years old I think. It then goes over the Black Bridge river bridge.

The Peterborough to March line is a part of the ex Great Eastern line which runs From Ely to Peterborough.

This website is  it is on railways, but it is not just on trains, but all things railways, with photos, which I have taken from the 1970s till now. I take photos of all things railways, steam diesel and electric trains, signal boxes, wagons any thing that is on the National Rail network, which was BR when I started taken photos.

Today EWS, East Coast, Central trains and EWS are just some of the names on the trains. The name on the train does not mean, thats whos train it is these days. These names keep changing, but that means I have to keep taking photos. I also take photos of preserved railways with steam diesel and electric trains. There is lots more to add and I keep taking More!
