The Class 08 is a 0-6-0 diesel-electric shunting locomotive. About 996 of these locomotives were produced between 1952 and 1962 by British Railways. They replaced the steam 0-6-0 and other lots of other steam shunting locomotives and could be seen all over the Uk in goods yards and stations. They were also used on local freight trains and to bring carriges into and out of stations.
