Re-opening Gala at Barrow Hill in 2017
This Re-opening Gala was held on the 23rd September 2017 was to mark the the re-opening of the Barrow Hill Roundhouse. The steam gala had A3 Flying Scotsman and new build A1 Tornado as it stars.
This is the only roundhouse left were live steam locomotives can be seen up close and in steam. Didcot being a GWR straight engine shed as is Carnforth LNWR shed (which is now closed to the public.)

0-6-0T 47406 was at the shed end of the demonstration line train with Flying Scotsman and Tornado taking turns at the other end

This former steam roundhouse is located at Barrow Hill near Chesterfield and was saved by the Barrow Hill Engine Shed Society. The photos on this page were taken in 2015
