LNER B1 61264

61264 was built in 1947 for  the LNER  by the North British Locomotive Company. This B1 is one of only 2 surviving Thompson Class B1's.
 
61264 was withdrawn in December 1965 by British Railways and was transferred into departmental stock and given the number 29. In 1967 it was stored till in 1968 61264 ended up at Barry scrapyard. It was there till 1976. This B1 returned to steam in 1997 after a long 20-year restoration in 2016. 61264 is now working on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Flying Scotsman was built in 1923 at Doncaster works of the LNER. It was designed by Nigel Gresley, as a LNER class A1. It appeared at the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley. Flying Scotsman was picked to haul the the inaugural Flying Scotsman the train.
 
The National Railway Museum now owns Flying Scotsman and is part of the National Collection.
 
In 2016 Flying Scotsman returned to the main lines after a very long overhaul.
