Early days at the Great Central Railway
In Its early days the Great Central Railway was known as the Main Line Steam Trust.
Manning Wardle 0-6-0ST Littleton No.5 and blue and grey mark ones.
After it left the GCR it moved to the Avon Valley Railway in 1980.

LNER B1 1306 was at the Great Central in the early days be for leaving for the Nene Valley Railway which it was at for a number of years. It was based at the North Norfolk Railway in 2014-2015. It is now on the mainline trains
O-6-0T with Great Central on its side.

The Great Central Railway today runs from Loughborough to Leicester North station close to the Leicester outer ring road. There are stations at Rothey and at Quorn & Woodhouse. The head quarters of the railway is at Loughborough were the engine shed is and the main shop ect. The railway has a large collection of steam and diesel engines
