The LMS Ivatt Mogul 46521 had come light engine from Loughborough to turn on the GCRs new turntable. This locomotive had just had a overhaul by the Loughborough Standard Locomotive Group and was very clean.

A total of 128 of these LMS Ivatt Moguls were built between 1946 and 1953. Of these twenty were built by LMS with the numbers 6400 to 6419. The remaining 108 were built by British Railways and numbered 46420 to 46527.

46521 appeared in the BBC TV sitcom that was called Oh, Doctor Beeching! The sitcom was based in a small railway station. It was for this sitcom that it received the name 'Blossom'. It does not carry this name now.

This turntable was delivered to Quorn and Woodhouse in January 2010, with work begining on digging the foundations in June 2011 . It had previously seen use in the ex-York Roundhouse in the days of steam. The turntable was originally built in 1909 by Cowans Sheldon Ltd of Carlisle and it is a 60-foot balance model. It was first installed in the York Roundhouse which is now the home of the National Railway Museum.
