42085 at Rothley railway station at the Great Central Railway on the 22nd of June 2008.
This LMS Fairburn 2-6-4T steam locomotive was designed by Charles E. Fairburn for the London Midland and Scottish Railway. 277 of these locomotives were built between 1945 and 1951. 42085 is one of only two that have been saved, the other one being 42073, both of these are based at the Lakeside and Haverthwaite at Windermere. 42085 was at the Great Central Railway for repairs.

42085 as it was painted in a Caledonian Railway blue livery. Thislocomotive was never painted blue. It ran in this colour for a number of years, when the Lakeside and Haverthwaite when that first opened.

The Great Central Railway runs from Loughborough to Leicester North station close to the Leicester outer ring road. There are stations at Rothey and at Quorn & Woodhouse. The head quarters of the railway is at Loughborough were the engine shed is and the main shop ect. The railway has a large collection of steam and diesel engines
