This NE autocar was not given any space in Winter Steam Gala Event Programme but was over full on all its trips. It was one of the stars of the Event.
This NER Auto-car was at Loughborough station during the Winter Gala in January 2020
This North Eastern Railway Petrol-Electric autocar originally built in 1903 at York Works and is believed to be the world's first internal combustion engine powered passenger train. This now has a replace diesel engine.
The NER 1903 Autocar Trust brought the vehicle back to life after the body was used as holiday home. A replacement under frame was fitted . The electric motors on the bogies were from a SR EPB de-icing unit. The wooden body was saved.
