Littleport Signal box

The signal box at Littleport with its level crossing gates and a signal be for the line was electrifled.

This box is set to close in 2021 when this line is to be controlled from Anglia Regional Operations Centre at Romford?

Like Ely this crossing near the station has a low road under bridge for cars and small vans only to use while the gates are closed, The signal box is to the right on the other side of the level crossing. There is only 8ft 3'' of headroom.

This under bridge was closed in May 2020, till the summer, the sign says on the right.

Littleport station was being altered in 2020, I think for 12 car trains.

The Ely to Kings railway in Cambridgeshire line starts at Ely North Junction at the small hamlet of Queen Adelaide were the line heads out into the fens alongside the river Ouse. The the line has overhead wires that is electrified at 25 kV AC. The first station along this line is Littleport which is a large village. Class 365 EMUs were  used on most of the trains from Kings Lynn to Ely Cambridge and to London Kings Cross, most trains stop at Littleport. There are just 2 platforms and a signal box left at Littleport.
