Class 73 207
Class 73s were not seen in March in BR days, as the were made for the third rail network in southern England. They ran most of the time from the third rail, but have a small by railway standards diesel engine, when no third rail was available.
Class 73 207 is one of six class 73s which were used by Gatwick Express. First GBRf how had 73 203 to 73 207 and 73 209 in 2009. class 73 207 was overhauled by Fragonset at Derby. 73 207 had been repainted with the large BR arrows and was in summer of 2009 and was being used for shunting duties at Whitemoor. This Class 73 had replaced a class 08.

There was a class 66 at the other end of this very long train which came out of the main part of the yard, and then under the road bridge and then It went all the way to the very end the head shunt on the Peterborough side of the triangle junction. It then backed the train back into a different siding in the yard.
First GBRf Class 66701 comes into Whitemoor from Peterborough in August 2009 round the very sharp curve. The other track is used for the head shunt for the yard.
