This 9400 Class 0-6-0PT No 9466 was re-numbered for this event as No 8443.

0-6-0ST no.8443 at Dereham on the 19th of July 2013 in British Railways unlined black.
The class 94XX was designed by Hawksworth as a modern version of the 57XX 0-6-0PT. The first ten were built by the Great Western Railway. Then the next 180 were built for British Railways.
This one number 9466, was built in November 1952 by Robert Stephensons and Hawthorns at its Newcastle works for BR. It was withdrawn in July 1964, and ended it up in Barry Scrapyard in March 1965.

The Mid-Norfolk Railway Preservation Trust
It was only around 1995 that The Mid-Norfolk Railway Preservation Trust started to restore this line between Dereham and Wymondham. It now has 17.5 miles of track (11.5 miles is in use) which when its is all in use, will be one of longer preserved railways in the UK. A lot of the other preserved railways had already had a twenty year start when they started.
