First GBRf Class 66727 and A4 60019 Bittern at Orton Mere
This unusual pairing at the Nene Valley was on a Diesel Day on Saturday 1st March 2008.
How many other railways have A4s in steam on there Diesel Days!
60019 was booked on the Talisman that was leaving Peterborough main line station at 10am for Newcastle. It was taking over from a Diesel, that was to bring the train from London. 60019 had been at the NVR overnight.
A4 60019 Bittern had left Wansford at around 7am and had been waiting in platform 2 for GBRf Class class 66727 at Orton Mere, which had the token for the Fletton Loop. GBRf 66727 was to run at the NVR diesel weekend.

The Nene Valley Diesel Day on Saturday 1 March 2008 saw the first train of the day with Steam with A4 60019 Bittern with its support coach from Wansford to at Orton Mere. 60019 had been at the Nene Valley Railway overnight. The A4 was booked to take over the 'Talisman' from a diesel at Peterborough mainline station.
Being March the little sun there was that morning always helped in getting some photo's in the low early morning light at that time of year, and there was only just enough.
