Mark 3 DVT
The Mark 3 DVT was buit at Derby in 1988. The Driving Van Trailer or Driving luggage Van as it is sometimes called was developed from the Mark 2 DBSO.
These Mark 3 Driving Van Trailers are used with the class 90s at the Norwich end (northern) of the train. This is unlike the ECML whos later Mark 4 DVTs are at the London end of the train.
These DVTs and the Mark 3s and the class 90s all came from the West Coast Main line for use on the Norwich to London line. They were all well worn when then came.

DBSO
DBSO 9703 in Anglia colours with a "one" train from London Liverpool Street Station comes into Norwich station in 2005.
The DBSO was built originally as an Mark 2 Standard Brake Open that was converted to operate as a control car for the locomotive which was at the other end of the train.
The first ten DBSOs numbers 9701 to 9710 were converted in 1979 for the Glasgow to Edinburgh push-pull service that had been using two top and tailed class 27s. The New service was to use just one specially modified class 47/7s per train. Four more DBSO numbers 9711 to 9714 were converted in 1985/6
When the DBSO were converted from the mark 2 carrages, the DBSOs kept the end gangway and had only had a small half cab. They were later to be rebuilt with the gangway removed and a full width cab put in its place
Class 158s replaced the Class 47s and DBSOs in late 1980s on the Glasgow to Edinburgh push-pull service.
The Norwich to London Line was again going to get 2nd hand stock and the DBSO were after being converted for use with the TDM that was used by the AC class 86/2 electric locomotives, put to good use on the London trains
Anglia Railways franchise started on the 5th January in 1997 and the DBSO were repainted in the Anglia colours.
After 1st April 2004 Anglia Railways franchise was transferred to London Eastern Railway Ltd, which is a subsidiary of the National Express Group. It was then re-branded as 'ONE' from the 1st of April in 2004 to 26th February 2008. It was then to be re-branded as "National Express East Anglia" with another repaint.
