This line was put in as part of the upgrade at Peterborough railway station in 2014. Trains can run both ways along this line, like most the other lines in Peterborough station.

Platform  6 and 7 the new Island platform were built, were the old goods loops were, along side platform 5, so the 2 goods avoiding lines had to be moved. Just one new avoiding line was built along side the new platform 7.

 

Crew change overs and waiting for a clear run beteween the passenger trains to cross over the ECML into Westwood Yard or onto the GNR loop line by way of Spalding and Doncaster. Freight will often if using the Stamford or March line wait to follow a unit stopping at all stations .
