This 2-6-0 steam locomotive is 43106 an LMS 4MT lvatt class 4. This class of steam locomotives were know as Flying Pigs. This one 43106 is the only one of these locomotives that was saved out of the 162 built.
This LMS 2-6-0 was designed by H G Ivatt . Only three were built in 1947 by the LMS the rest were built between 1948 and 1952 under British Railways. Some of these had aready been started in 1947. The London Midland region used them and the M&GNJR lines in East Anglia.

This Southern Railways Battle of Britain was designed by O.V.S. Bulleid and this one was built at Brighton in 1947. This one was rebuilt by British Railways in 1958, and then withdrawn in November 1965 only 7 years later.
These Battle of Britain locomotives were named after RAF stations and squadrons and people who were involed with the air battle.
This locomotive is named after Air Vice-Marshal Park who commanded the 11th Group. They were responsible for the fighter defence of south east England and London in the Battle of Britain .
