Deltic D9009 at NVR the Peterborough station
D9009 at Peterborough Station in its British Railways two tone green 3/10/2009.
This Deltic was from the Deltic Preservation Society which is at Barrow Hill.
Deltic D9009 at the Nene Valleys Peterborough Station about to leave for Wansford on the 3/10/2009.
The name of this Deltic (which was later to become class 55) is Alycidon which was named after a race horse which had been the the winner of the 1949 Ascot Gold Cup. The LNER had a history of naming engines after race horses and some of the Deltics continued that.
