Number 825 is an LSWR S15 class 2 cylinder locomtive that was designed by Robert W Urie. This class was built at Eastleigh between 1920 and 1936 in three lots.
This engine was built in 1927 after The London and South Western Railway had became part of the Southern Railway, after the Grouping in 1923.Richard Maunsell had became its Chief Mechanical Engineer, for these later engines.

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) is one of the top Heritage Railways in the UK. The railway runs though some of Yorkshire's finest moor land.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs from Grosmont to Pickering. There are stations at Goathland and Levisham. There is also a halt at Newton Dale.
