Cross Country 220 Voyager 2008
Cross Country (Arriva group) in 2007 took over some the franchise from Virgin Trains of the Cross Country franchise together with some of the Central train Services.
The class 220 Voyager deisel electric multiple units were built in 2000 and 2001 by Bombardier Transportation and are like the class 222 Super Voyagers.

Network Rails New Measurement Train (NMT) is used to check the condition of the track on most of the main railway lines in the UK in a 13 week cycle. Some of the things It can check for are contact with the track of the wheels and the track geometry. The overhead wire height and the track gauge and cant. The train can also takes video from both the power cars and of the pantograth. The pantograth is not used for power, but to check for over head line faults.
43013 and 43014 have had new MTU engine fitted. Also 43062, can be used . Five Mark Three coaches are used. It all over Yellow colour has given this test train the nickname of The Yellow Banana by some.

Cross Country is just one of the railway franchises that ran there trains though York station in 2008. GNER then National Express East Coast and then East Coast ran the Main line trains on the East coast Main Line though York. First Transennine Express also run there trains. Northern and Grand Central did as well.
