The Class 395s EMUs were built for the high-speed commuter services on High Speed 1 railway line, between London St Pancras station and Kent.
These six car trains were built in Japan by Hitachi and operate at a maximum speed of 140 mph, which now gives a journey time from Ashford International to London of about 37 minutes and it takes only 17 minutes from Ebbsfleet International to London St Pancras station.
There maximum speed of 140mph is with the 25kV AC overhead electrification on High Speed 1. They can also run at 100mph on the 750V DC third rail in Southern England.
The other end of class 395019 EMU was at the Railfest 2012 Exhibition held at the National Railway Museum in York.
