D9009 in 2008 at the National Railway Museum at York. This Deltic or class 55 as they became under Tops.

D9009 was named Alycidon on the 21st of July in 1961. It is painted in two tone green liverly which they ran in on the ECML befor they were repainted in BR blue.

The name Alycidon was like many LNER Top link locomotives that ran on the ECML a race horse name, this locomotive name is the 1949 Ascot GOLD Cup winner.

D9009 was at The 1968 and all that Exhibition. This was a event at York  at the National Railway Museum in 2008 to Mark 40 years since the end of every day steam by British railways in 1968.
