Greater Anglia class 379 022 in the new platform 8 at Cambridge railway station 29th August 2013.

Cambridge railway station in 2013 now has a new bi-directional island platform that are numbered 7 and 8. These platforms opened in December 2011. They were needed so there could be more long 12 coach trains at Cambridge station. A new footbrige with lifts was needed at the nothern end of the station linking the new platforms to the older part of the station.

At the south end of Cambridge station are the bay platforms 3 and four. Greater Anglia class 317 505 waits in platform 4

There was a fine building here on the left, called Fosters Mill which was damaged, when in March 2010, there was a major fire, during extensive demolition work on the mill The buildings were not yet finished in 2013, so I will have to decide weather they are better when they are finished .
