Class 89001 'Avocet' in GNER colours, at the Crewe Works Open Day in 2005
89001 was built as a AC electric prototype locomotive in 1986 by British Rail for a fleet of loco hauled locomotives that were never ordered. It was still in its GNER colors at the 2005 Crewe open day.
GNER stoped useing 89001 in 2003 and stored the locomotive. The locomotive had been moved to Barrow Hill in 2004 and into the AC Locomotive Group's care. In 2007 it was repainted back into its original InterCity Executive livery.
GNER Class 91118 Bradford Film Festival getting to the 2005 Open day a little late by lorry
I think this class 91 was to have come by rail but had to come by road in the end.
