Barnwell Station Building at Barwell station

This part of the website has a mixture of some of things that are not engines, that are all to do with the Nene Valley, from when the railway was opened till now.

We start with the Wooden station building that came from the Closed station at Barnwell.

We move away from the NVR to the village of Barnwell for this page. This is were the Nene Valley Railway got the wooden LNWR waiting room at Wansford station from.

The Station at Barnwell was on the same line to Northampton from Peterborough as Wansford station, it had these two buildings on the Northampton platform. These photos were taken some years after the line here was closed and the track removed.

The wooden LNWR waiting room was moved by road from here by the Nene Valley Railway to Wansford.

The other brick station building at is still in use as a private house.

This is one of 5 pages of photos taken at the Nene Valley in this part.
The Nene Valley Railway now (2014) runs from Peterborough to Wansford railway station and then on to Yarwell junction. Wansford Station is on part of the old A1 at Stibbingson and is about 2 miles from the village of Wansford itself. The line is about 7 1/2 miles long. It now has the Fletton Branch which is about another mile and a bit.

This website is Ukrailways1970tilltoday.me.uk  it is a webe site on railways, but it is not just on trains, but all things railways, with photos, which I have taken from the 1970s till now. I take photos of all things railways, steam diesel and electric trains, signal boxes, even wating rooms like the ones on this page any thing that is on the National Rail network, which was BR when I started taken photos.

Today EWS, East Coast, Central trains and EWS are just some of the names on the trains. The name on the train does not mean, thats whos train it is these days. These names keep changing, but that means I have to keep taking photos. I also take photos of preserved railways with steam diesel and electric trains. There is lots more to add and I keep taking More!
