The old LNWR station buildings at Wansford
Nene Valley Wansford LNWR station.
The LNWR station building above was built in 1844/5 but was not for sale when the Nene Valley started it it had been bought together with the station yard by a haulage company. The platform was rebuilt and used by the Nene Valley.
In 2003 a Fund raising appeal was launched by the Nene Valley to buy this fine building. Funds are still required, details are on the Nene Valleys own website under stations.
The NVR now in 2016 owns this station building at last, but it still needs lots of money to do it up as its listed and it will not be cheap.
The New Wansford Station Building
