Cotswold Rail class 87007 at Norwich station
Class 87007 was working with class 87019 on London to Norwich trains as part of the ACORP Community Railway Festival in 2005
Cotswold Rail had eight class 87s which were to be used for spot hire and charter work. the 87s were based at Oxley Depot in Wolverhamton. I think just three of the 87s worked any trains. 87007 above was one of them, and the other was 87008. By July 2006 these locos had gone off lease.

This Class 87019 was at the rear of the train with 87007 in Norwich station.
In 2005 87019 was renamed for a year "ACoRP Association of Community Rail Partnerships" as part of the ACORP Community Railway Festival held on the weekend this photo was taken at Norwich in September 2005. This locomotive had been named "Sir Winston Churchhill". This loco is one of the class 87s that have now gone out to Bulgaria.
...........................................
The class 87 Locomotive.
The class 87 was built in 1973 to 1975 at Crewe by BR. There were 36 of them built. The outside of class 87 locomotive is based on the class 86 but with with no headcode boxes and just two windows instead of three. These locomotives can work with one driver in muiltiple with another class 87.The power output was made more, because of the larger gradients on the WCML above Crewe, when the wires were put up to Glassgow.
Around 2006 Porterbrook was asked about exporting some the class 87s to Eastern Europe. Two were sold to BRC in Bulgaria. These were 87012 and 87019 to test the waters.
Since then twenty five more have been sold to The Bulgaria Railway Company. Electic Traction Services Limted have done the refurbishment work needed and all the paperwork, which was helped when Bulgaria joined the EEC. Seventeen class 87s are so far in service with The Bulgaria Railway Company.
....
Only three class 87s are now left in the UK (or will be when all the 27 class 87s booked to be shipped to Bulgaria are there. this was to be the end of 2010) the rest (6?) have been cut up.
Class 87002 named Royal Sovereign is the only operational mainline registered locomotive that can run on the UK mainlines. (2010) It has been preserved by the AC locomotive group and is painted in BR blue.
Class 87001 named Stephenson / Royal Scot is on static show at the National Railway Museum at York and is painted in BR blue.
Class 87035 Robert Burns is at The Crewe Heritage Centre also only on static display and also painted in BR blue.
Class 47832 and DRS class 37069 in Norwich station.
Class 47832 is at the rear of one of the Norwich to Lowestoft shuttle trains with Class 33103 Swordfish at the other end. The DRS class 37069 had been parked in the station all day, during the first national Community Rail Festival held in Norwich station in 2005.
This Class 47832 was owned by FM Rail (this had been Fragonet). 47832 was named Driver Tom Clark OBE and pained in a very shiny black at this time. It was later to be be long to Vita Westlink Rail painted in grey and black. Then it went to DRS and was painted in there blue compass colours and then into the Stobard colours.
