A4 4-6-2 4464 Bitten in LNER blue coming slowly into platform 4 at Peterborough on the 4th of December in 2014 with a Cathedrals Express.

 

A4 Bitten was back in at Peterborough the 30th of December in 2014. It is seen leaving platform 4 with steam every were on a cold December morning. What a way to end 2014!

 

This was the "BITTERN FAREWELL TOUR" from London Kings Cross to Lincoln and return. This was its last mainline steam tour, before its overhaul. Bittern was still in steam at the Bluebell railway in October 2015 now back in its British Railways green.

 

 B1 61306 Mayflower in early British Railways green coming slowly into platform 4 at Peterborough on Thursday 12th of Febuary in 2015 with a Cathedrals Express to York from London Kings Cross.

This steam locomotive was at The Nene Valley for many years who's Peterborough station is not far away from the Peterborough mainline station. It nice to see Mayflower back on the main line.

 

There was to be less steam on the main lines at Peterborough in 2015, than for a number of years because of a steam ban for most of the spring and summer.
