This HST was on hire because their class 180 kept breaking down. Hull Trains have in 2020 got new class 802 Paragon trains to replace the class180s and the HST's have gone back.
LNER Azuma in platform 2 on 15th of June 2019
Virgin East Coast in March 2016 had decided these class of new trains would carry the brand name of 'Azuma'.
When they enter service it will be with LNER, who will still use the name 'Azuma'. The new timetable was due to start in December 2018, but was put back to make sure all the training and testing was done before they came into service in 2019.

This Platform was numbered as platform 3, more platform was added to it in 2013 at the south end, so the new 12 coach Thameslink servies to South London and Gatwick Airport could use this platform.
