The Swanage Railway is on Isle of Purbeck which is on the English south coast.  The railway takes its name from its southern terminus at the south coast seaside resort of Swanage. Car parking for any one coming by car is best at the northern terminus at Norden which is set up as park and ride station. The railways other stations are at Corfe Castle, Harman's Cross and Herston.
 
The railway to Swanage was operated by the London & South Western Railway Company and opened in 1885 .

Drummond M7 class 0-4-0T number 30053 was in Corfe Castle station which is on the Swanage Railway. The locomotive is owned by Drummond Locomotives Limited.
 
The Drummond M7 class 0-4-0T was built from 1897 to 1911 for the London and South Western Railway. This locomotive was built in 1905
 
After this locomotive was withdrawn from BR, it was sold in 1967, to Steamtown which is in Bellows Falls in Vermont in the USA. After 20 years in the USA it came back to the UK in 1987.

92 Squadron is a Southern Railway Battle of Britain class 4-6-2. It was at the Swanage Railway for just this weekend.Nice to see it on its home ground.
 
The Battle of Britain Locomotive Society owners of 92 Squadron had this locomotive at the Nene Valley Railway for 21 years with a lot of the work to get it back in steam done outside. It then went into the shed to finish the job, be for its first steaming in December 1997.
 
34081 ran at the Nene Valley for a number of years befor going to the North Norfolk Railway just befor its boiler ticket ran out.
 
It has now returned to Nene Valley Railway and is now back in steam.

Project 62 are the owners of this Yugoslavian built Class 62 USA type 0-6-0 tank steam locomotive with the number 30075.  This tank locomotive was acquired from Store Steel in Slovenia in 1990, were it had the number JZ 62-669.
