Video of the Greater Anglia FA cup train from Norwich to Peterborough, at Whittlesea on the 5th of January 2013.
For the 3rd round FA Cup Match between Norwich and Peterborough on the 5th of January 2013 Greater Anglia put on a special train from Norwich.
This train had DRS class 47082 and DRS class 47828 top and tailing the train.
I went to the Ramsey road in Whittlesea to see the train from Norwich to Peterborough and the ECS move of the stock to Ely while the Match was being played. Being early January, it was dark for the return train, so I did take any video of it.
The Norwich fans were happy, as they had won the football match.
The Peterborough to March Railway line
The railway line between Peterborough and March runs from Peterborough railway station and then across the River Nene and under the ECML,  past the site of Peterborough East station. Peterborough East was the main Great Eastern Railway Peterborough  station for this line. This station was closed and all services transferred to the Great Northern Peterborough North station, now called just plain Peterborough.
The railway line heads out of Peterborough to Kings Dyke were there are still brick works. There is a signal box at Kings Dyke on the main Peterborough Whittlesea road. The first and only station is at Whittlesea which is still open. There is a signal box called Whittlesea here still open in 2016.
The railway then heads out across the fens towards March. At Turves which is a small hamlet or village there is a signal box called Three Horse Shoes that is still open in 2016.
The railway station at March is still open and there is a Network Rail Infrastructure Yard on the site of the old Marshalling Yard now at Whitemoor.

Today  names like East Coast, East Midland Trains GBRF and Virgin Trains are just some of the names on the trains. The name on the train does not always mean, thats whos train it is these days. These names keep changing, but that means I have to keep taking photos. I also take photos of preserved railways with steam diesel and electric trains. There is lots more to add and I keep taking More photos!
