Birmingham New street, Birmingham Moor Street station and Birmingham Snow Hill are the three main stations at Birmingham. Unlike London there is no underground to join the three.

Birmingham Moor Street station is on the line to Leamington Spar and to London Marylebone. Birmingham Snow Hill is though the tunnel in the other direction

When it was decided to reopen Birmingham Snow Hill station and use the tunnel to link the two stations, Moor Street layout was altered with new platforms. But the buildings were not refurbished till 2002 when 11 millions pounds were spent on the station.

Just the two though platforms were used at Moor Street. The two bays are available but were not not used at this time. The Birmingham Museum Trust at Tysley loaning a GWR 2-8-0 for display in one of these platforms.

The GWR 2-8-0 has now gone back to Tyseley and these platforms are now used.

The overall effect with is very good. New and old parts have been used. GWR signs and potted plants all add to the overall effect.

The only down side of this station, is the walk from New street station for certain services. This is ok on nice day but on a cold wet day is not so good.
