GWR Class 56XX no.6619 at the NYMR at Levisham station in 2006
The weather was not kind on this day with rain and it was very dull.
The GWR Class 56XX is a 0-6-2T. This particular locomotive was designed by C B Collett and Its number is 6619. It was completed in 1928.
GWR Class 56XX was in in Barry scrap yard for about 9 years. It came to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in 1974. It was painted in BR unlined black

The 7F 2-8-0 no.53809 is in British Railways unlined black is at Levisham station in 2006 during a vist to this railway for a steam gala.
This Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway 7F 2-8-0 is one of two that have been preserved out of a small class of 11 locomotives. 53809 had come from the Midland Railway at Butterly.
53809 was built in 1914 at Derby. This engine spent most of it life on the now closed Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway. It withdrawn in June 1964 and ended up at Barry scrapyard. It was saved in 1975, and went to Doncaster, be for going to the Midland Railway Centre in March 1980.
NYMR
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) is one of the top Heritage Railways in the UK. The railway runs though some of Yorkshire's finest moor land.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs from Grosmont to Pickering. There are stations at Goathland and Levisham. There is also a halt at Newton Dale.
