Black 5 45231 in York station on the 16th July 2013 on The Scarborough Express Spa Express that had just come from Scarborough This train had, had a class 47 diesel locomotive put behind the steam locomotive because of the fire risk.
When this train had left York in the morning (below) the diesel was put at the front.
West Coast class 47 760 at York on the 16th July in 2013 with Black 5 45231 in the morning.
The new signal centre at York was being built behind the train. This one building will control most of the ECML and Eastern England closing many signal boxes and power boxes.
Black 5 45231 was in York station and was on the first leg of the Scarborough Express from York which had, had a class 47 diesel locomotive put on the front of the steam locomotive because of the fire risk.
This was one of days that the NRM was holding 'The Great Gathering' of all 6 A4s saved in the great Hall at the NRM
Some of the railway franchises that ran there trains though York station in 2008 were East Coast who ran the main East Coast Main Line trains on the East coast Main Line though York. First TransPennine Express,Cross Country who also ran there trains. Northern and Grand Central did as well.
The UKs National Railway Museum is at York next to the railway station
