6023 King Edward ll at Quorn and Woodhouse on Staturday 27th April 2013
This was the last chance to see the Great Western King , King Edward ll in 2013 at the GCR be for it returned to The GWS at Didcot.
This Swithland Steam Gala 2013 was billed with 8 locomotives four of which were visitors. This event was to mark the opening of Swithland sidings to the public with the signal box in full use.
Sir Hayton a 0-4-2 narrow gauge locomotive on display at Quorn and Woodhouse station yard in 2013 on a flat bed lorry in the evening sun. The locomotive was on a small tour of heritage railways from the Talyllyn Railway in North Wales.
Sir Haydon No.3 is a 0-4-2ST built by Hughes for the 2ft 3ins gauge Corris Railway as a 0-4-0. It was rebuilt as an 0-4-2 in 1900. It now runs on the Talyllyn Railway

The Great Central Railway runs from Loughborough to Leicester North station close to the Leicester outer ring road. There are stations at Rothey and at Quorn & Woodhouse. The head quarters of the railway is at Loughborough were the engine shed is and the main shop ect. The railway has a large collection of steam and diesel engines
