Swithland Steam Gala 2013
Judy and Alfred on Staturday 27th April 2013 at Swithland Sidings.
These two very low 0-4-0ST steam locomotives were built by W.G. Bagnell for use at Par harbour, which is in Cornwall. There was a very low bridge were the GWR Cornish main line went over the railway and some very tight curves.
Judy and Alfred are now perserved at The Bodmin and Wenford Railway.
Alfred was built in 1953. Alfred was built by W.G. Bagnell for use at Par harbour
Although both locomotives are more or less the same note the rivets on the tank of Judy and the handrails. The locos wheelbase is only 5ft and the driver and fireman sort of sit to drive them.

This Swithland Steam Gala 2013 was billed with 8 locomotives, four of which were visitors. This event was to mark the opening of Swithland sidings to the public with the Swithland signal box in full use.
The Great Central Railway runs from Loughborough to Leicester North station close to the Leicester outer ring road. There are stations at Rothey and at Quorn & Woodhouse. The head quarters of the railway is at Loughborough were the engine shed is and the main shop ect. The railway has a large collection of steam and diesel engines
