LARGE MARCH LIST
MARCH MPD

March MPD on a frosty morning with class 31182 and a Class 37

March MPD on a cold frosty morning with class 31182 and a Class 37 with twin headcodes

The photo above was from the road that ran along side the MPD and had little or no fence along side the MPD

March MPD has now closed, it was very big and busy shed in steam days and while Whitemoor yard remained open it was kept busy. But when Whitemoor Yard closed there were no engines needed, as no freight started or ended at March

The new Network's Rails Distribution Centre may well see a need for some type of small Depot again required, but not on the scale of the old MPD.

This photo shows how the MPD came right up to the road with no fence and the oil lamps just left out on a bit of wood.

What's left of the fence can be seen in this photo.

These pages in this part are on March in the 1970s which still had lots of freight from the then still large Whitemoor yard.
