The Bank Holiday Panniers were at Melton Mowbray railway station on Monday 27th of August 2012. This mainline steam train was from Tyseley to Melton Mowbray hauled by GWR class 57XX pannier tank locomotives 7752 (LT94) and 9600.
A 2nd train from Melton Mowbray to Corby was then top and tailed by the Panniers.
The train returned from Melton to Tyseley hauled by the two Panneirs.

This made quite a change from the big steam locomotives on mainline steam. These tanks always sound like they are working hard. The video below was taken on a rather full Melton station, when every one had to get out of the train, when the train was shunted into the loops to clear the line for the normal service trains.

Melton Mowbray station is on the line from Syston Junction to Peterborough. Most passenger trains are class 170 or 158 units from Birmingham via Leicester to Peterborough March Ely and Cambridge and to Stanstead airport. Container trains and stone hoppers and Ballast are the main freight trains.
