THE MELTON RAMBLER was from Tyseley Warwick Road to Melton Mowbray and return with GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 no 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe with 5043+GWR 8750 Class 0-6-0T no 9600on Saturday 12th August 2017
This train wae run by Vintage Trains, who operates trains on the main line using locomotives based at Tyseley Locomotive Works. This train was Steam hauled between Tyseley and Melton Mowbray The train was then steam hauled between Melton to Corby and the return back to Melton. The return to Tysely was also steam hauled. Because there was no turntable and Tender Locomotives cannot run all the way back to Birmingham tender first two locomotives were neened.
While water was taken the train had to put in loops east of station to clear the platforms for service trains and freight. Water for the Tank locomotive was taken light engine near the signal box.
