Dereham North box at Dereham station in 2011.
This signal box has been put up here by the Mid-Norfolk Railway. This photo is from 2011.
The box came from Laundry Lane in Lowestoft. I am not sure if this is to be just a gate box or a signal box.
The original Dereham North box was removed and preserved at the former Hindolveston railway station which was on the now closed Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway line between Meton Constable and Norwich City station. Its a pity the original Dereham North box could not have been reinstated, but that box went be for the MNR even started.
This is the same Dereham North box in 2005, be for it was done up
The Mid-Norfolk is a mainly a diesel line. But has put in water cranes and water tanks, so steam can use the line. Each summer the Mid-Norfolk hirers in a steam locomotive and has a Steam Gala. It now has a new engine shed in 2019. So it will be able to store locomotives inside in when it is up and running.
