DMU from The NVR
DMU on The Fletton branch with a train from Orton Mere to Peterborough station.
The Fletton branch gives the Nene Valley Railway a mainline connection comes off the ECML at Fletton Junction and joins onto the NVR at Orton Mere station. This DMU ran from the Mainline Peterborough station for a number of years to the NVR station at Orton Mere in the early days at Weekends.
Fletton had lots of rail connected brick works The one in the background had closed but the loading dock were wagons were loaded can still be made out at this time. Houses have now replaced the brick works here.
There were two tracks on the loop but one had been removed by the time I took this photo as well as the tracks for the loading dock.

The DMU was on a Peterborough mainline station to the Nene Valley's station at Orton Mere. This service ran for a short time at weekends.

DMU on the Fletton Branch at The Hotpoint bridge.
The DMU above which is crossing the Bridge at the entrance to the Hotpoint factory at Fletton. It is heading for Peterborough station. This bridge was called the "Hotpoint Bridge" by Peterborough locals as you had to go under it to get to the Hotpoint factory. The DMU was on the Fletton Loop line at this bridge in the Fletton part of Peterborough.
There was no roundabout here as there is today, the road only went to Hotpoint Perkins Engins Fletton Factory and Redring only.
There was a DMU from Peterborough station for a number of years to Orton Mere at Weekends.
This railway line known as the Fletton branch was still part of British Railways at this time and had served the Peterborough Beet Factory only for the last few years .
In 2014 After the NVR took over this bridge was repainted and is now in just one colour. The roundabout can be seen on the other side of the bridge.
These signals arms have now all been removed.
ThIs signal was on the Fletton branch which now gives the Nene Valley Railway a mainline connection. It had no oil lamps and no coloured glass in the signals. It was used not for train movements, But for eyesite and signal tests. A man would change the signals from the hut.

This signal is still standing but has no signal arms and is very rusty. Trees have grown all round and the hut has gone.
Deltic on the Fletton branch
Deltic Fenman on Fletton Branch from Fletton junction to Orton Mere.
The Deltic above which is coming towards the Nene Valley with the Deltic Fenman, having just passed over the Hotpoint bridge.

This line known as the fletton branch was still owned by British Railways at this time. The houses gardens came right up to the tracks today there is a rear acess road to the back of these houses.
This Railway line is now known as the Fletton Branch Is now owned by the Nene Valley Railway
One of The first Brake van rides along the Fletton branch during the Febuary steam Gala in 2013
This line known as the Fletton branch was still owned by British Railways (BRB (Residuary) Limited) . The line had been been leased by the NVR since 2007.
The Nene Valley Railway had secured a Transport & Works Act Order in 2012. This was needed to complete its transfer from BRB (Residuary) Limited to Nene Valley Railway.
The first normal passengers used the this line (You had to book) on Nene Valley brake van rides trains at the Febuary 2013 steam Gala.
