For a few years a DMU ran from Peterborough mainline station to the Nene Valley at weekends. I think the head board has been added to this service but may I be wrong. The portacabin is still in use waiting for the building that is here today. The 2nd platform is also yet to be built.

This part of the website has a mixture of some of the various engines that have been on the Nene Valley from when the railway was opened till the mid to late 1990s.

Britannia 70000 was based at the Nene Valley railway between it main line runs.

It came to th Nene Valley in 1980. Britannia is a British Railway standard Class 7MT (mixed traffic) 4-6-2. It was built in 1951 at Crewe. It was the first of the British Railways standard locomotives to be built.

It was on the Nene Valley with the Class 5 which is also a British Railways standard design.

Britannia was one of Nene valley main engines and did a lot of good work on the Nene Valley. Britannia has now left the Nene Valley.
