Tornado into platform 2 at Peterborough on Wednesday the 4th April 2012

A1 4-6-2 number 60163 Tornado was in platform 2 at Peterborough station on Wednesday the 4th of April 2012. Its train was a "The Cathedrals Express" which was to booked to start from Peterborough and go to Salisbury and return that night with Tornado.

The steam locomotive together with the ECS and a class 67 diesel  locomotive had come from London that morning at around 6-30am and gone into Westwood Yard. It was still dark and raining heavy then, so I did not get up to see it. It was then got ready. It was booked to leave Westwood Yard at 8:47am to then get into platform 2 at Peterborough station at 8:50am.

Tornado was then was booked to leave with its passengers for the trip to Salisbury at 8:54am. It was a very dull morning with rain, unlike the week be for when it was a very hot  and very bright day.

Its started to rain just as a hose pipe ban was just starting!

This website is Ukrailways1970tilltoday.me.uk  it is on railways, but it is not just on trains, but all things railways, with photos, which I have taken from the 1970s till now. I take photos of all things railways, steam diesel and electric trains, signal boxes, wagons any thing that is on the National Rail network, which was BR when I started taken photos.

Today Hull trains and GBRf are just some of the names on the trains.  These names keep changing, but that means I have to keep taking photos. I also take photos of preserved railways with steam diesel and electric trains. There is lots more to add and I keep taking More!
