The GWR 1400 Class is a class of 0-4-2 steam locomotive that was designed by the Great Western Railway and classified as the 4800 Class when introduced in 1932 but was later in 1946 re-classed as 1400.

This Great Western Railway 4575 Class 2-6-2T Small Prairie was built in 1928. It was withdrawn by British Railways in 1961 and ended up in Barry scrapyard. It was to be 14 years be for it was saved.

This Great Western Railway 2-6-2T no.5542 is now one of the locomotives based at the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway.

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway has saved a part of the former Great Western Railways mainline from Birmingham via Stratford-upon-Avon to Cheltenham. The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway runs trains between the Cheltenham Race Course station at Cheltenham to Broadway. It now has stations at Gotherington Winchcombe and Hails Abbey Halt and Toddington and Broadway (Broadway station only reopened in 2018 ).
