The Great Western Railway 7800 Class or Manor Class is a class of 4-6-0 steam locomotive that were built between 1938 and 1939 by the Great Western Railway. British Railways built another ten in 1950. This locomotive was withdrawn at Shrewsbury in November 1965, and ended up at Barry in June 1966. The locomotive was saved by the The Erlestoke Manor Fund. GWR 4-6-0 'Erlestoke Manor' is based at the Severn Valley Railway.

This GWR Modified Hall class 4-6-0 number 7903 Foremarke Hall were designed by F W Hawksworth Modified Hall's were introduced between 1944 and 1949. Foremarke Hall was withdrawn by British Railways in 1964 and moved to the Barry Scrapyard.
 
Foremarke Hall is owned and The Foremarke Hall Group It was restored at  the Swindon & Cricklade Railway in 2004 . It  has been since 2004 been at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway The locomotive has just had a 10-year overhaul and re-entered service at this 2016 Cotswold Festival of Steam .
 
Gotherington station is a privately owned station on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway which was open for this event.
 
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway has saved a part of the former Great Western Railways mainline from Birmingham via Stratford-upon-Avon to Cheltenham.  The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway runs trains between the Cheltenham Race Course station at Cheltenham to Broadway. It now has stations at Gotherington Winchcombe and  Hails Abbey Halt and Toddington and Broadway (Broadway station only reopened in 2018 ).
