EMT Intercity class 222 010 in Kettering station on 7th of March 2020
LNER ‘A4’ No. 60009 'Union of South Africa' was on a Railway Touring Company mainline steam train from Ealing Broadway to York on the 7th of March 2002. This was to be one of the A4s last mainline trips as the owner is not going to do do its next 10 year overhaul but is to build a Museum for it .
Water was being taken in Kettering station from a road water tanker which was parked in the station car park.

Kettering station station in 2020 still has most of is its station canopies remaining . There are four platforms at Kettering station The two over the foot bridge are numbers three and four. all platforms are used by EMR trains.
There is a buffet and ticket office at Kettering and the size of the car park shows the station is well used. The main platforms are on the fast lines and non stop trains wizz though at about 90 miles an hour. The displays warn when non stop trains are coming though, yellow lines are painted on the platforms and passengers are warned to keep behind these.
With the overhead wires going up there is lots of work going on in and around the station in March 2020. Bits are being removed from the canopys which are to near to the wires.
