Class 31 comes past the Pelham Street signal box
 
A Class 31 comes past the Pelham Street signal box and over the Pelham Street crossing.
 
When the line from the now closed St Marks station on the right was closed this rail level crossing was removed . Be for the road flyover was opened in 1961 there was also a road level crossing here as well. There were four hand operated gates with four men, one on each gate to try and get the gates opened and closed as quick as possible, befor all the road traffic in Lincoln stopped altogether.

Durham Ox Junction. The lines to Wrawby Junction and Grimsby are on the right with the lines from Lincoln Central  station curving left wards. the buffer stops are the head shunt for DMU diesel depot now closed The line off the point  is now sidings and is all that is left of the line to Bardney. The class 40 is on the GN and GE Joint line from Sleaford and Spalding having just come by the Sincil Bank level crossing and Sincil Bank signal box. The line from the now closed Lincoln St Marks Stationis is the two tracks bottom right.

A Class 37 comes into Lincoln station with the rest of its train still over the Pelham Street crossing. The flyover replaced a road level crossing. Note the fine signal that was removed when the track and signals were updated.

This signal box was called Pelham Street Junction and was built in 1874 by the Great Northern Railway.
This signal box Pelham Street Junction controled the Pelham Street Junction or Durham Ox Junction together with High Street, East Holmes and West Holmes signal boxes were all closed when Lincoln station had a major resignalling and new track layout scheme during the years 2007 to 2008. These boxes were replaced by a new state of the art signalling centre near to West Holmes box.
 
Pelham Street Junction signal box was not a listed building, so was not;saved and closed in July 2008. It was then demolished in August 2008.
