All the signal boxes on this page at Wellingborough are now closed and were removed in 1987.

'Wellingboro Station' signal box at Wellingborough station in BR days.

Note the name plate on the box reads Wellingboro station. Why did they not get a bigger name plate and spell it in full?

'Finedon Road' signal box

This signal box was opened in 1893 and it was closed on the 5th of December in 1987.

'Neilsons Sidings' signal box was at the Kettering end of the large goods yard at Wellingborough.

This signal box was opened in 1893 and was closed in December 1987

		Wellingborough The Midland station is still standing at Wellingborough in and looks good.The two fast lines have platforms that are used for though and stopping passenger trains There is now only one slow line which is used both ways. It is now normally only used by freight, although it runs though the old down slow platform. The old up slow platform is out of use with no track in place or assess from the footbridge. The station at Wellingborough is on the Midland main line from London to Sheffield. Like other stations on the Midland Main Line there are next train panels giving the present time and when the next train on that platform is due.
