The Goods Avoiding Line
The goods avoiding line was put in as part of the upgrade at Peterborough railway station in 2014. As can be seen from this page trains can run both ways along this line, like most the other lines at Peterborough station.
Platform 6 and 7 the new Island platform were built, were the old goods loops were, along side platform 5, so the 2 goods avoiding lines had to be moved. Just one new avoiding line was built along side the new platform 7.
