Abbots Ripton is a small village between Huntingdon and Peterborough. It had a station but this like most of the small stations on the ECML this was later closed.
Abbotts Ripton is better known for the wrong reasons because of the rail disaster here when a signal froze in the clear position on the 28th January 1876 which let an express passenger run into the rear of a coal train.
