At long last some New platforms had been built at Peterborough station. This page is on the new platform 3 on the up fast at Peterborough railway station in 2014

This Page is about the new platform 3. This platform is part of the upgrade at Peterborough railway station. New lifts have been added to this new platform.

There was a small strip of waste land between the old platform 3 and the up fast line were a new platform face was built making it into an island platform This new platform face is now platform number 3.

A class 180 not stopping at Peterborough comes though platform 3 slowly on what is still the up fast.

With men still working on the track around the station this class 180 was not flat out. I do not know what speed they will do when the station is done. The up fast was 111mph.

Work was under way at Peterborough on the 4th of September 2013 on the new platform 3 and also on the old platform 3 (now with the new number of of platform 2).

There are now in 2014 new lifts (not befor time) and new stairs from the old footbridge onto this what is now a new island platform.

On Tuesday 13th December 2011 Network Rail had announced a 43 million pound upgrade of Peterborough railway station starting in April 2012 and was to be completed by December 2013. This included new lifts to each platform.
